E-Boats

The E-Boat was developed as a day fisher/yacht tender. Powered by a 10KW (15HP) water cooled motor and 10KWH LifePO4 storage battery pack. It is intended to integrate this with a super yacht LifePO4 system whereby the cassette based storage bank is interchangeable with the yachts house system.

Currently the boat uses a typical outboard leg, (modified for the BLDC motor) this will be replaced soon by an Earthling designed, direct drive transom mounted outboard (patent appl. 582367). This new design will achieve significant weight savings and improve efficiency by approx. 20%.  We took a blank canvas and designed a drive specifically for electric propulsion targeting reduced weight and high efficiency. Without gearboxes, liquids and 90deg transmission losses efficiency gains translate directly to improved range and performance.

The Fly-By-Wire cockpit on the Earthling E-tender. The boat is a standard Smartwave SW-3500 polyethylene hull. The Scott Robson Cathedral Hull shape is efficient and easy to plane.

This outboard, the 18KW (25HP) Lynch motor, was able to plane a tender at 30KPH for 45mins with a 10KWH LiFePO4 pack. See youtube clips.

 

 

 

E-surf

The E-surf Drive is a surface Axis Outboard (Patent Pending) currently being developed and tested by Earthling. Gains in weight reduction and efficiency will translate directly in range and useability. The unit will stow easily and be carried by one person.
