Electric regeneration is possible and with a variable pitch propeller, very effective. Typically a crusing sailboat would not be affected by the drag of regeneration once hull speed is reached. With the instant torque available maneuvering the vessel is very efficient and precise. Coming and going from a crowded mooring is effortless and silent.
